Entrepreneurship in Africa: Strengthening Skills as a Key to Accessing African Markets / ACP

On October 24, 2026, the Congolese Press Agency (ACP) published an article highlighting the contribution of Dagraça Mobengo, Founder and President of Bouger.Vivre.Réaliser (BVR ASSO), at the regional conference of the HerAfCFTA initiative for Central Africa, held in Brazzaville.

The event highlighted a key challenge for African entrepreneurship: strengthening the skills of women and young entrepreneurs as a prerequisite for accessing African markets, particularly within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

During her contribution, Dagraça Mobengo emphasized the importance of training in digital tools and sound business practices, particularly for rural women seeking to promote their products and expand their customer base. She also stressed that access to digital equipment must go hand in hand with practical training on how to use it effectively.

Addressing the financing challenges faced by small-scale entrepreneurs, she highlighted tontines—community-based savings and lending systems—as alternative financing mechanisms. She also advocated for an approach to entrepreneurship that combines economic empowerment, capacity building, and social impact.

This vision aligns with the mission of Bouger.Vivre.Réaliser (BVR) and BVR ASSO: to make skills development and knowledge-sharing drivers of empowerment, economic development, and sustainable transformation within African communities.

Acknowledgements to the Congolese Press Agency (ACP) for covering this contribution and highlighting the challenges and opportunities surrounding skills development, entrepreneurship, and access to economic opportunities for women and young people across the continent.
